Glossary
IC - In character. When you are IC, you are acting as your character and interacting with the game setting.
OC/OOC - Out of character. When you are OOC you are acting as yourself, not as your character.
Time In - indicates that the event has started, and you must act as your character until the end of the event.

Item Card - A small orange laminated card containing information on an in-game item or resource
Safety - If you hear someone call this out during the game (especially during combat) it indicates that a person has been OOC injured and needs the attention of the first-aiders. You should immediately stop play and go down on one knee so that the situation can be quickly resolved.
PvP - Player vs Player. Refers to conflict/violence between playing characters.
PvE - Player vs Environment. Refers to the most common type of conflict in our events, where the players work together against traps, puzzles, NPCs, monsters etc.
NPC - Non-player character, played by someone who has volunteered to help run the game.
PC - Player character, played by someone who has paid to play at the event.

XP - Experience points, earned when your character plays an event. Can be spent on new skills, spells and abilities.

Location Hits/Hits Per - how many times your character can be hit on each of 6 locations (head, chest, each arm, each leg). Each character starts with a base of 1 Hit per Location, which can be increased with certain skills.
Globals - Floating hit points, not tied to a particular location. When you take damage, these are lost first. They regenerate after a 5 minute rest.
Crew Credit - A unit of thanks given by the game team for helping out (by crewing, kit donation etc) that can be redeemed for XP on a character or spent to play a non-standard race.
